Lantern Heritage has expertise in historical research, site interpretations, archival recording, historical archaeological assessments, impact assessments, developing and implementing excavation methodologies, and undertaking historical artefact analysis.
All our staff have experience in historical archaeology, and our team includes excavation directors with experience in test excavation, monitoring and open area salvage on sites of local and state significance in NSW. This includes extensive experience working safely and effectively with machinery to expose and investigate 19th and 20th century archaeological sites.
We have particular expertise in dealing with the archaeology of ephemeral rural sites and industrial landscapes.
Our Director, Bec Parkes, also has experience in teaching and training undergraduate and postgraduate students in historical landscape interpretation, survey and open area excavation.
